About the Guide
Â
I’m Lucas, an Argentine mountain guide and outdoor enthusiast with a background in engineering and years of experience guiding and working in the mountains around the world.
My path into the outdoors has taken me from the Andes to New Zealand and Iceland, where I have guided everything from valley and glacier walks to technical ice climbing, as well as kayaking, mountain biking and other mountain adventures. Along the way, I’ve had the opportunity to work with people from many different countries and backgrounds, from large groups to private, tailor-made trips.
The mountains have always been more than just a workplace for me. I love being outside and learning from the environment around me — whether that means climbing a mountain, following an animal track, discovering a new plant, fly fishing, or simply spending a quiet day in nature.
I also enjoy sharing what I have learned. Over the years I have trained and mentored other guides, taught glacier skills and crevasse rescue, and continued developing my own knowledge through professional training and experience.
After many years living and working abroad, I always knew I wanted to return to Argentina. This is my country, and the Andes are a place I feel deeply connected to.
Today, I want to share that connection with others.

The Story Behind Andes Approach
Andes Approach was born from a simple idea: I wanted to share my country and its mountains in a more personal way.
After years of travelling, guiding and living abroad, coming back to Argentina made me see the Andes with a different perspective. I wanted to create something that would allow me to welcome people here not simply as clients, but as guests — and to show them the places, landscapes and experiences that make Patagonia special to me.
For me, guiding is not only about reaching a summit or completing a route. It is about everything that happens along the way: discovering a landscape, learning about the mountains, sharing a good conversation, adapting to the conditions, and enjoying a day outside.
Whether you are looking for a challenging mountain adventure, a quiet day in nature, or simply a different way to experience Patagonia, I want to create something that feels genuinely yours.
This is my country, these are my mountains, and Andes Approach is my way of sharing them with you.
